Lead Information

We’ve all heard some horror story or another of a kid getting lead poisoning by picking the paint off the walls of something or another. But is lead all that dangerous? The short answer is yes. According to the CDC it can cause anemia, kidney issues, weakness, and brain damage, and if the exposure is high it can cause death. It also holds danger for unborn children, as lead poisoning can pass into the placenta. In short, lead causes way to many issues for it to be silently disregarded.

In Illinois, there is an estimated 2 million homes that contain lead in the paint or other parts of the house. If your home was built pre 1978 it is highly likely that it could contain lead, but even if it was built after 1978, it is still possible that it could contain lead.

If you are remodeling your home or office building, you should consider the possibility of the building containing lead as lead can be dangerous not only to you but also to those working on the house.
